ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the commencement of registrations for the ROG Masters global gaming event’s South Asia segment on 28 June, 2017 which will culminate in a final at The Lalit in Bengaluru on 19 August, 2017.

The registrations have started at the website and it will be featuring two games: Counter Strike: Global Offensive and DOTA 2. The tournament is divided into four continents which are Asia Pacific (APAC), Americas, China and Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA).

The South Asia group will have the countries India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The Indian qualifier will have three phases namely offline, online and the finals. The offline segment will be held in a total of 16 cafes across 8 cities and will start from 8 July, 2017 till 25 July, 2017 with a total of 8 teams competing against each other to find the winner. This will be done for both the games. The online event will be held on 27 July, 2017 and will have total of three winning teams for each game.

The third phase are the finals which will be held on 19-20 August, 2017 at the Lalit in Bengaluru where 4 teams from India, 1 team from Sri-Lanka and 1 team from Bangladesh will compete each other for a prize money of Rs 10,00,000. The winner will then head for the APAC qualifier in Bangkok in September 2017. The world finals will be held in Singapore in November, 2017. The prize money will be $500,000 or roughly Rs 10,00,00,000.

ROG Masters is an eSports tournament held for aspiring pro-gamers across the world. This is the second year for ROG Masters and already it has turned into a global event, the first stint being in the Asia and Oceania region only.
