Volkswagen will have something new to showcase at the upcoming 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The automaker is all set to welcome it smallest SUV yet, to its global lineup called the T-Roc and Volkswagen was been generous enough to release a teaser video showcasing the new compact SUV and its capabilities.

Indeed, this is the first time Volkswagen has officially teased it upcoming T-Roc. The video posted on the company’s official YouTube channel showcases the SUV covered in camouflage that looks similar to the T-Roc concept which was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2014.

While the concept was a 2 door model, the T-Roc featured in the video is a four door. Volkswagen should be bringing this one to India, considering that it has too much to lose out in the compact SUV market with just Volkswagen Tiguan to be its only SUV offering, that will obviously not come cheap. The Tiguan will make its way to India in May.

The SUV teased in the video showcases a new grille design that looks very similar to the T-Roc concept. The internals are said to come from the Polo and the Golf.

Both the Tiguan and the T-Roc share the same MQB platform, so our best guess would be that the T-Roc too may be produced locally for customers in India. This would also make its pricing competitive in comparison to the Jeep Compass which has been officially announced but won’t arrive until late 2017.
