During the past two weeks, we’ve announced improvements that make Office 365 more accessible and easier to use. We’ve also introduced new features to make it easier for you to recover documents and resolve issues when problems occur.

In conjunction with Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we announced two new enhancements to make it easier for people with vision impairments to use Office 365. The new High Contrast themes for PC users can help people with cataracts or reduced contrast sensitivity see what’s on their computer screens. We also expanded Office 365 support for screen readers on mobile devices, so that people who can’t see the content on a screen can hear what is displayed. Finally, we shared a number of things you can do to make the content you create and publish accessible for everyone.

As part of our ongoing effort to make Office 365 more collaborative and easier to use, co-editors can now chat with each other in real-time within a OneDrive document when working in Office Online, and our Office 365 Business and Education customers can do the same with documents stored in OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online. In addition, the Skype for Business App SDK Preview is now available for download. This new SDK enables developers to seamlessly integrate instant messaging, audio and video experiences into their custom iOS and Android applications. As a result, you’ll soon be able to use Skype for Business to communicate within your mobile apps.

Other recent announcements offer better compliance and problem-solving. Office 365 is an extremely reliable service, but when something does go wrong, we’ve got your back. The new Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365 is an easy-to-use app that helps you identify and solve the problem—and we’ll be adding new troubleshooting and resolution capabilities in the future. And to help you quickly investigate and meet legal and regulatory obligations, we’ve added several eDiscovery enhancements to the Office 365 Security and Compliance Center, including case management, search, hold and export.
