HMD Global has updated its line of Nokia smartphones at MWC this year and has also launched two new smartphones as a part of its portfolio. Apart from the flagship Nokia 9 PureView, the Nokia 4.2 is the latest addition to the Nokia family, while the 3.2 is an update to the already existing Nokia 3.1. Both these smartphones are aimed at the budget-segment in developing markets.

Nokia 3.2 Specifications

The Nokia 3.2 is powered by the Snapdragon 429 SoC and comes with either 2 or 3GB RAM options along with 16 or 32GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded through a micro SD card slot. Android Pie runs the software ide of things and being a part of the Android One initiative, software updates for the net 2 years are covered.

The display is a 6.26-inch HD+ TFT panel with a tear-drop notch housing a 5MP front facing shooter. The rear camera is a 13MP unit with f/2.2 aperture. The 2+16GB variant skimps out on the fingerprint scanner while the 3+32GB variant has it. There’s AI powered face unlock as well for biometrics. The power button has a notification LED ring surrounding it and there’s an additional button to trigger Google Assistant. The battery powering the device is a 4000mAh unit.

The Nokia 3.2 will go on sale starting April this year for $139 for the base variant.

Nokia 4.2 Specifications

The Nokia 4.2 gets a slight upgrade in terms of SoC in the form of a Snapdragon 439 chip. The cameras on the rear are now two 13+2MP sensors instead of just one on the 3.2, but the display has been shrunken down to 5.71 inches with the same HD+ resolution and tear-drop notch housing an 8MP shooter. The battery capacity however has been cut down to just 3000mAh. There’s 2 or 3GB RAM with 16/32GB of internal storage which can be expanded.

Software is Android 9 Pie and the 4.2 as well is a part of the Android One program and will hence receive updates at least fo the next 2 years.There’s a rear mounted fingerprint reader, AI based face unlock, NFC and a dedicated Google Assistant accompanied by a power button with an LED notification ring.

Just like the 3.2, the Nokia 4.2 will also ship starting April for a price of $169 for the base variant.
