Editing videos on iPhone, iPad and Macbook made easy!

There are many individuals now that use Apple devices like the iPhone, iPad or MacBook on a regular basis. Most of these individuals are aware of the things that the Photos app can do. Under general functions, the app can import photos or videos, organise and edit them. At times, the videos are too long a file or too heavy to be shared on emails or texts.

You may thus, find the need to shorten these videos by trimming them down. If not, you may prefer to share a small portion of the video with someone. The Photos App on these Apple devices helps to trim a video by changing the start and stop time on any of your Apple devices.

Below are the steps you need to follow to cut short a video by trimming:

Editing a video on your iPhone, iPad requires:

Step 1: Go to the Photos app on your Apple device and tap on the video that you wish to edit

Step 2: Tap on the ‘Edit’ option

Step 3: Adjust the slider positions on both sides of the video timeline to change the start and stop timings.

Step 4: If you wish to preview the video, tap on the play button

Step 5: Click on the ‘Done’ option

Step 6: Click ‘Save as a new Clip’

Now, your file shall be saved as a separate individual video, and the original video will be saved as it was earlier to be used again by you as per your need.

Trimming a video on your MacBook requires:

Step 1: Go to the Photos App on your MacBook and click n the video that you wish to trim.

Step 2: While lingering over the video click and choose the ‘Trim’ option

Step 3: Adjust the slider positions on both sides of the video timeline to change the start and stop timings.

Step 4: If you wish to preview the video, tap on the play button

Step 5: Then click on ‘Trim’

If you wish to access the original video later, open the video, click and choose ‘Reset Trim’.
