Reliance recently launched a customised Facebook app for JioPhone. Now the company has announced that the JioPhone will be made available on amazon.in. Until now the JioPhone was sold via the Jio retailers and the online Jio store. Reliance Jio has tied up with Amazon and is offering cashback on every recharge. I personally hope that the amazon.in availability will help JioPhone buyers purchase the device in a relatively easy way.

The buyer is still required to pay an upfront security deposit of Rs 1500(refundable after three years), and the customers will be treated with a flat cashback of Rs 50 for every recharge done via Amazon Pay Balance. Both the offers are valid until 28th of February. Meanwhile, JioPhone users will get free voice calls and unlimited data (valid for 28 days) at a price of just Rs 49. At the time of launch, users had to pay Rs.153 every month to get 1GB/daily data. However, Jio slashed the prices to only Rs 49 at the beginning of this year.

A quick recap, the JioPhone comes with equipped with a 2.4-QVGA color display. The phone also comes with an SD card slot, Torchlight, headphone jack, FM radio and a basic camera. The JioPhone also supports 22-Regional languages, and it comes with a voice assistant that seems to work flawlessly.

That being said, the Rs 49 plan comes with a caveat. As announced during the launch, the user needs to recharge for a minimum amount of Rs 1500 in a year. Now since the monthly pack costs just Rs 49 users need to recharge an extra amount of approximately Rs 900 in a year. However, if the user is fine with forgoing the Rs 1,500 security deposit, they can just recharge for Rs 49 every month.
